First class guide
Here’s how to get to your first class.
You’re not expected to know the routine. Come a little early, park behind the building, and head upstairs. We’ll be right at the top of the stairwell and we’ll help you from there.
When you arrive
The building can be a little confusing the first time. This is the simple version.
Park out back
There’s loads of parking behind the building. Use the back lot, not the front entrance.
Come through the back
The back door is usually open. If anything feels unclear, call or text us and we’ll help.
Take the stairs up
We’re on the second floor. Take the stairs and you’ll come up right by the academy.
We’ll meet you there
We’re right at the top of the stairwell. Come 10 to 15 minutes early so we can show you around before class.
What to bring
Keep it easy. You don’t need to buy anything before trying class.
Workout clothes
A fitted t-shirt or rashguard and shorts or leggings work well. Avoid zippers and pockets.
Water
Bring a bottle. You can take breaks and move at your own pace.
We’ll have a gi
If you want to wear one, we’ll have a clean trial gi ready for you.

What class will feel like
Your first class isn’t a test. We’ll show you how to stay safe, how to tap, and how to work with a partner. You won’t be thrown into hard sparring on day one.
Need help before you leave?
If you’re running late, can’t find the back entrance, or aren’t sure what to wear, just call or text the academy.
