Kids Jiu-Jitsu near NDG
Help your child build confidence, focus, and resilience.
A safe, beginner-friendly jiu-jitsu class near NDG where kids learn self-control, respect, and practical self-defense without striking or pressure. No experience needed. Parents can watch the first class.
For shy kids, high-energy kids, and kids who are brand new.
Your child does not need to be athletic, outgoing, or already comfortable with contact. The first class gives them a structured way to move, listen, try, and see that they can do something hard without being embarrassed.
Confidence without aggression
Kids learn to stand taller, use their voice, respect partners, and stay calm when something feels uncomfortable.
Focus without yelling
Class gives kids a structured place to move, listen, take turns, and try again after mistakes.
Bully resistance without revenge
We teach posture, boundaries, getting help, and physical skills only when needed. This is not a class about looking for fights.
They’ll be safe here. They’ll be welcomed here. They’ll have room to grow.
Before you choose a program, you need to see the room for yourself: how coaches talk to kids, how partners are matched, how safety is handled, and how your child feels afterward. That is what the trial is for.
We start with safety, not intensity.
New kids learn how to tap, care for a partner, move with control, and ask for help before anything gets harder.
- Grouped by age, size, and experience
- No child is pushed into hard sparring before they’re ready
- Coaches supervise closely
- Clean mats, clean uniforms, and cleaned loaner gear
Self-defense with self-control.
Kids jiu-jitsu is non-striking. We want your child to stand taller, stay calmer, and know what to do when something feels wrong, not become rough or reckless.
- Confidence without aggression

- Problem-solving under pressure

Parent questions before the first class.
Is jiu-jitsu safe for kids?
There is always some risk in a physical activity. We reduce that risk by starting gradually, teaching tapping and partner care early, and keeping beginners closely supervised.
Will my child get hurt?
The first class is not rough training. Kids are matched thoughtfully, coached closely, and introduced to movement in a controlled way.
Does jiu-jitsu teach kids to fight?
We teach control, boundaries, calm problem-solving, and self-defense as a last resort. There is no punching or kicking in kids jiu-jitsu.
Can my child try it if they’re shy or nervous?
Yes. They can watch, pause, ask questions, and join at their own pace. Parents can watch the first class.
What age can kids start?
Send the trial request and we’ll confirm the right starting class for your child’s age, size, and comfort level.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes are fine. A fitted shirt with shorts or leggings works well.
Does my child need a gi?
No. You don’t need to buy anything before the trial. We can lend a cleaned trial gi if your child needs one.
Can parents watch?
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch the first class and ask questions after.
Are new kids mixed with advanced kids?
Coaches match students thoughtfully by age, size, experience, and comfort level.
How do you choose training partners?
We look at age, size, experience, confidence, and comfort level. The goal is a partner who helps your child learn safely.
Will my child have to spar or compete?
